Stepping Stone Kennel is a small breeder located in Western Connecticut, that has been breeding, raising and training Australian Shepherds for 18 years.
It all started with a dream and a wish... just kidding! It all started with a gorgeous red merle puppy named Cleo.
Mary grew up in the Newtown area and currently resides. She grew up with animals, mostly horses and rough coated collies. With her love of animals, she is currently the head technician at a local veterinary clinic for over 20 years.
Mary grew up showing horses and when Cleo came into her life, she became all about the loving the Australian Shepherd breed.

Our dogs excel in obedience, agility, service work, and most important of all, being a life long family companion.
Australian Shepherds are people dogs, and thrive on human companionship. They are exceedingly loving dogs and bond strongly with their family. They are also one of the most intelligent, trainable, and versatile dog breeds. Australian Shepherds have proven themselves in farm work, herding, therapy, and service work. While we do not breed our Australian Shepherds as traditional working dogs, they are still a breed that requires plenty of physical and mental exercise to be happy and healthy.
